Set up Storyworld in your agent
Connect Storyworld to your AI agent and install the Storyworld skill, with one prompt or by hand.
Quickstart
Paste this into an agent that can run commands, such as Claude Code.
Connect Storyworld and install the Storyworld skill. If you're in Claude Code, run `claude mcp add --transport http storyworld https://api.storyworld.ai/mcp --scope user`, then `claude plugin marketplace add storyworld-ai/storyworld-skills`, then `claude plugin install storyworld@storyworld-ai`. If you're in another agent, add a remote MCP server named storyworld with the URL https://api.storyworld.ai/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no API key), then run `npx skills add storyworld-ai/storyworld-skills --skill storyworld` and select your agent. Use one installation method. When Storyworld asks you to sign in, tell me to approve it in the browser window that opens. You can read the skill directly at https://github.com/storyworld-ai/storyworld-skills/blob/main/skills/storyworld/SKILL.md (raw: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/storyworld-ai/storyworld-skills/main/skills/storyworld/SKILL.md). Then use the Storyworld skill whenever we work with Storyworld. Once Storyworld's tools are available to you (if you need a restart or a reload first, tell me exactly what to do), do this: Using Storyworld, list my projects. If I have none, create one called First Light and tell me what you set up.
The prompt connects Storyworld to your agent and installs the Storyworld skill. Your agent runs the commands below for you, so you only need them if you would rather do it yourself.
Install by hand
Add the Storyworld server for every project.
claude mcp add --transport http storyworld https://api.storyworld.ai/mcp --scope userAdd the Storyworld plugin marketplace.
claude plugin marketplace add storyworld-ai/storyworld-skillsInstall the Storyworld plugin, which carries the skill.
claude plugin install storyworld@storyworld-aiIn your agent's settings, add a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) with this name and URL. No API key or header is needed.
storyworldhttps://api.storyworld.ai/mcpInstall the skill, and pick your agent when it asks.
npx skills add storyworld-ai/storyworld-skills --skill storyworldSign in
The first time your agent calls Storyworld, your browser opens so you can sign in to your Storyworld account and allow the connection. You don't need an API key.
What the skill does
The skill teaches your agent how to work in Storyworld the way a director would. It learns to:
- Ask what you are making (a feature film, an episode, a short or an ad) before it plans anything.
- Plan sequences and shots with Storyworld's filmmaking engine, then check each shot and fix what the check finds.
- Look up your projects, characters and shots by name, so you never have to give it an ID.
- Tell you what a generation will cost and wait for your yes before it spends credits.
- Write and revise screenplays without losing scenes you already have.
- Read a refusal, fix what it names, and tell you which tool to switch on when one is missing.
Read the skill
The skill is a single file your agent reads. You can read it too:
- SKILL.md on GitHub
- SKILL.md as raw text, for an agent to read
